Cabernet Sauvignon is the most famous red wine grape in the world. It is the product of an accidental crossing between Cabernet Franc (father) and Sauvignon Blanc (mother) in the 17th century. This dry red wine produces a bouquet of cedar, violets, leather, bell pepper, and black currants. We age our Cabernet Sauvignon in heavy American oak. Popular food pairings include roasted red meat, cream sauces, butter sauces and other Italian foods. International Cabernet Sauvignon Day is celebrated on the last Thursday of August each year.
